The Congress party has complained to the Election Commission, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of violating the Model Code of Conduct.
Congress’s complaint against PM Modi alleges a breach of the election code of conduct. The party has urged the Election Commission to take action against the Prime Minister for turning Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s statement on power struggles into a religious issue.
Senior leader of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. G. Niranjan, wrote a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar on Monday (March 18th), stating that while Rahul Gandhi spoke against oppressive powers, PM Modi twisted it into a religious context. PM Modi attempted to provoke people’s emotions, which is a violation of electoral norms. The Congress has demanded that the Election Commission prevent such attempts to disrupt communal harmony by twisting issues.
The Power
During the conclusion of his ‘Bharat Jodo’ (Unite India) Justice Yatra on Sunday (March 17th), Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP, stating that Hinduism teaches resistance against certain powers. Later, he clarified that the powers they were fighting against were institutions like the EVM, ED, and CBI. He emphasized that India’s voice has emerged from Mumbai and the power aiming to divide the nation will never defeat the power of unity. Love will triumph over hate again in this country, and India will emerge victorious.

Priyanka Gandhi’s Statement
The Congress General Secretary took a dig at PM Narendra Modi, saying, “The Prime Minister is only a master of diverting public attention. The country’s people are grappling with inflation, unemployment, and economic crisis. The youth are angry, farmers are committing suicide, and people are unable to afford homes due to inflation. Demonetization and GST have destroyed millions of industries, but the Prime Minister wants to divert public attention by raising non-essential issues.
